There’s nothing like wedding season in Savannah. You catch glimpses of it all year: bridal portraits in front of the Forsyth Park fountain, dolled-up bachelorette parties drifting through downtown, and nuptials at every other hotel in the historic district.

In ode to the season ahead, Marmalade Savannah is hosting the Occasion Edit: a spring trunk show with Staud, to help you find the perfect wedding-weekend attire. In advance of the event, we dreamed up an editorial shoot to show off a few of our favorite styles from the collection. We couldn’t have done it without one of our favorite places to stay, Hotel Bardo.

It was the perfect day to play wedding.

We cast Joi as our soon-to-be bride and her mother, Lisa, as our models. Our brand is built around the mother-daughter relationship, so we wanted to capture those emotional wedding moments with a real-life pairing. We partnered with Devoss Photography, who specializes in wedding photography, to bring the story to life. We wanted the images to feel authentic, like the kind of perfect day that unfolds naturally.

Hotel Bardo was incredibly gracious, offering us a variety of beautiful spaces to shoot.

We began at the pool, which was stunning in the afternoon light. The setting felt effortless and cinematic, and we couldn’t help but think it would make the perfect backdrop for a future fashion show.

Next, we moved to one of the suites to capture those pre-wedding jitters. The room was incredible, complete with balconies overlooking the pool and plenty of space for getting ready. We photographed the in-between moments, jumping on the bed, adjusting dresses in the mirror, getting ready in the bathroom, and sharing quiet mother-daughter moments.

We ended the shoot in the lobby and at Club Bardo Bar, shifting from bride to attendee. The atmosphere was perfect for high-flash photography and that celebratory after-party energy.

The photos turned out incredible and perfectly captured the essence of the day.

In addition to hosting the Staud Trunk Show at Marmalade, we will also be hosting fittings at Hotel Bardo during the trunk show weekend, giving you the opportunity to shop the collection in one of our favorite Savannah settings.

We cannot wait to share the images with you and welcome you to our Staud Trunk Show.
