the Occasion Edit: BTS of our Staud Trunk Show Photoshoot

There’s nothing like wedding season in Savannah. You catch glimpses of it all year: bridal portraits in front of the Forsyth Park fountain, dolled-up bachelorette parties drifting through downtown, and nuptials at every other hotel in the historic district.

In ode to the season ahead, Marmalade Savannah is hosting the Occasion Edit: a spring trunk show with Staud, to help you find the perfect wedding-weekend attire. In advance of the event, we dreamed up an editorial shoot to show off a few of our favorite styles from the collection. We couldn’t have done it without our favorite hospitality team at Hotel Bardo.

It was the perfect day to play wedding.

We cast Joi as our bride-to-be and her mother, Lisa, as our models. Marmalade is built around the sacred relationship between mother and daughter, so it was essential that we capture the emotions in the behind the scenes wedding moments with a real mother-daughter connection. We partnered with Priscilla Boudreau of Devoss Photography, locally based wedding photographer, to bring the story to life. We felt that through Priscilla's point of view, the looks could be captured with the pace and movement required when photographing a wedding or an event in which the most precious moments cannot be replicated.

Hotel Bardo was incredibly gracious, offering us a variety of beautiful spaces to shoot.

We began poolside, bright and stunning in the afternoon light. The setting felt effortless and cinematic, and we couldn’t help imagining it as the perfect backdrop for a future fashion show.

Next, we moved to a suite to capture some getting-ready magic. The room was incredible, complete with balconies overlooking the pool and plenty of space for primping. We photographed a fantasy glam session... jumping on the bed, throwing rose petals, twirling in the mirror, applying makeup in the bathroom, and sharing precious mother-daughter moments.

We ended the shoot between the lobby and the sultry Club Bardo Bar, shifting focus from bride to wedding guest dressing. The saturated color and late afternoon atmosphere was perfect for high-flash photography creating that celebratory after-party energy- note the Do not disturb.

We can't wait to share the magic we made with all of you... The Occasion Edit will run from March 6-8th offering an exclusive selection of celebratory dressing, curated with love for life's sweetest occasions. Private fitting appointments will be available at Hotel Bardo throughout the weekend.

From the Bride and her bridal party to the graduate, the wedding guest, and every celebration in between, find the piece you’ll reach for when the occasion calls.
