There are few pieces we ask more of than a good pair of jeans. They survive trend cycles, questionable styling decisions, and that first stretch of fall when getting dressed suddenly requires a little more thought.
For Marmalade’s Fall Denim Edit, we went back to the styles that earn their place in a closet year after year. Featuring denim from AGOLDE, Rails, and Icon Denim, the shoot is less about reinventing the classic and more about remembering just how much you can do with it.
A Matter of Fit
The right denim gives you somewhere to start. Across the shoot, washes and silhouettes shift from relaxed wide legs to longer shorts, creating a foundation that can move between the last warm days and the beginning of fall.
The styling does the rest. A draped top and platforms take a light wash somewhere dressier, while a graphic tee, jacket, or oversized sweatshirt keeps another pair firmly off-duty. The denim stays familiar; everything around it changes.
The New Uniform
What makes denim particularly good this time of year is how little commitment it requires. There’s no need to abandon summer dressing overnight. A longer short works with a sweatshirt when the temperature drops, while a favorite pair of jeans can take on whatever layer, shoe, or oversized accessory you’re suddenly ready to wear again.
It’s less about finding a new uniform for fall than returning to one that already works.
Behind the Shoot
Shot on the streets of Brooklyn, the Fall Denim Edit takes these everyday pieces out of the dressing room and into the environment where they make the most sense. Against brick, pavement, storefronts, and city blocks, the clothes feel lived in rather than overly styled.
Back in Rotation
Fall always comes with the temptation to overhaul your closet. This season, Marmalade is starting with the pieces already proven to work and finding a new reason to wear them.
