OpéraSport opened Copenhagen Fashion Week with a collection that felt completely at home in its surroundings. Set among the greenery of Carl Jacobsen’s Garden, the Spring/Summer 2027 show, titled Growth, explored the beauty of change and through that brought sporty ease into a distinctly romantic world.

Growth in Bloom

Founded by best friends Awa Malina Stelter and Stephanie Gundelach, OpéraSport has built its identity around the meeting point of feminine dressing and athletic ease, making this collection feel like a natural progression for the brand. Sporty capri pants and swimsuits appeared alongside lace, draping, tailored jackets, corset tops, and softly flowing silhouettes. The result was feminine without ever feeling overly sweet, with an ease that made even the more elaborate pieces feel effortless.

A Garden of Color and Flowers

The color story throughout was exquisite. The collection moved from varying shades of blue, a subtle nod to the teal summer we’ve had this year, into blacks and greys before ending in a progression of yellow, white, and gold. It felt like spring in a bottle.

The flowers were where the collection really came alive. Botanical embroidery, floral organza appliqués, and oversized orchids appeared throughout. One look that especially stood out featured a monochrome asymmetrical white top paired with white jean capris, clear heels, and the most enormous bunch of baby’s-breath-esque flowers worn as a headpiece. It was a total showstopper, with the model’s face completely covered and the clothes left to do all the talking. It was one of the clearest expressions of the collection’s playful approach to femininity.

Beauty extended that same idea of botanical beauty. Fresh, flushed skin was paired with real orchids placed around the face, while flowers and untamed arrangements appeared throughout the hair. Rather than simply echoing the clothing, the beauty added another layer of wildness to the garden setting.

From the Runway to Marmalade

What makes SS27 especially exciting is how easily the runway fantasy translates into a real wardrobe. A lace top or tailored jacket can be worn with denim, while a draped dress or floral accessory can instantly elevate an otherwise simple look. The most dramatic pieces feel approachable because OpéraSport never loses sight of how its clothes will actually be worn on every kind of model. There was even a pregnant model, really emphasizing the changes that can bloom in a woman.

SS27 feels like OpéraSport in full bloom. The collection proves that growth does not always require starting over; sometimes it means taking what already works and allowing it to evolve. For OpéraSport, that evolution looks especially good in bloom.

We are so thankful to have attended the SS27 Copenhagen show and are incredibly excited to bring some of these pieces into the store for the new season. As we carry a few peices from earlier collections, we already know our customers are going to love the new ones, so keep an eye out for OpéraSport’s SS27 peices arrival at Marmalade!
