An Introduction to Sirene through a September afternoon in Brooklyn.
September in Brooklyn leaves plenty of room for interpretation. For this editorial, we want to introduce Sirene through that very freedom: a little romance, a little practicality, and a willingness to wear something beautiful while going about your day.
New to Marmalade: Meet Sirene
The brand Sirene is one of the newest additions to the Marmalade family. She is truly the new girl on the block. The brand draws inspiration from the sea, exploring the relationship between fluid movement and sculptural shape. Nature informs the brand and their prints and textures. Central to their approach is responsibly sourced fabrics and small production.
On the streets of Brooklyn, those influences find a different rhythm. Draped fabrics catch a breeze outside a storefront, soft colors meet weathered brick, and the pieces take on the personality of who is wearing them.

The green Aurora Drape Mini Dress carries those references to nature into the styling, its soft folds recalling the movement of water, while the Rain Printed Gown brings a more expressive pattern to the Brooklyn streets. The pieces offer a glimpse of the world Sirene comes from. She may be the new girl on the block, but she’s brought a little of the sea with her.

Pretty in Pink
A new arrival deserves good company. Alongside the Pacifica Printed Pant by Sirene, the pink Staud Fabianne Silk Top brings a more structured kind of femininity into the story. Its corset silhouette gives the look definition, while the pink keeps things playful. It deserves a moment of its own. Sirene is already blending well with our others!

There’s something satisfying about taking a piece that suggests an occasion and wearing it in the middle of an ordinary afternoon. Here, the styling makes room for that. You can dress up simply because you feel like it and the plans will catch up to you later.

Precious Cargo
Every new girl comes with a little baggage, and ours has brought enough to make herself at home.

Alongside their cardboard prop, the clothes become part of the neighborhood’s everyday activity: arrivals, deliveries, things being carried from one place to another. The setting gives the editorial a sense of humor, allowing beautiful clothes to exist amid a little disorder.

That’s the spirit of the shoot, and our welcome to Sirene. A wardrobe comes to life through the person wearing it, the places she takes it, and the unexpected combinations she makes throughout the journey of owning it.
Something tells us Sirene is going to fit right in. She already is.
